Another dupe for a famous MAC lipstick - Wet n Wild Megalast lipstick in Pinkerbell

Yes. Another dupe alert here! Who doesn't love cheap dupes for the pricey MAC lipstick right? Well, as you know, I am a big fan of MAC and I totally dig their lipsticks! (aside from lustre and cremesheen finish) I really love the staying power, pigmentation, sleek application, the high end feel of the tube and of course, the finishes of amplified, matte and satin (which are my favorites!). I already have 10 MAC bullets and I really intend to add some more colors if I am just aren't on a MAC lipstick ban (seriously? my other half's quite puzzled on how am I able to finish all those 10 tubes! haha), however, I feel that it won't be wise to just spend a thousand bucks for a single lippie when you can get a dupe for only a fraction of its price (okay, I know... reasons even on a lipstick ban lolz). So, since Wet n Wild is know to have some good dupes for some MAC famous lipsticks re: Rebel (Sugar Plum Fairy), Sail la vie (Purty Persimmon), Viva Glam Nicki (Pinkerbell)- and since I know an online store who sells these babies for such a cheap price (half the price from malls I'm sayin' here) I ordered 2 again: 24 Carrot Gold which is a medium orange color and Pinkerbell. I have already did a post about the former yesterday and just like what I've said, I'll do a separate post for Pinkerbell. ( such a cute name! haha!). Let's start.

Wet n Wild Megalast lipstick in Pinkerbell has a bright pink with yellow undertone color. It is such a very vibrant color and looks so good against my skin (slightly lighter than NC20 here). It really reminded me of MAC's Viva Glam Nicki which I don't have, but had swatched it a couple of time on my lips. It also kinda have the same shade like MAC Chatterbox, only this one is much brighter and has a more pink tone than the former (I let go of Chatterbox because I can't seem to make it look good on me) I can say that it really has the same shade like VG Nicki on me! Like the other WNW Megalast lipcolor that I purchased, this has a decent staying power, has a very pigmented semi-matte color which isn't drying on my lips. (just be sure to use lip balm prior to applying) I am always happy whenever I find a great dupe of MAC lipsticks specially if it's a drugstore brand!  (I find it so rewarding haha)*yippeeeyyy*

                                                                            Selfie shots:

Pros:
Very pigmented like the other WNW Megalast lipstick that I own
A dupe for MAC Viva Glam Nicki!
Affordable at Php 148.00 at The Primp Pad
Semi-matte finish that isn't drying
Opaque in just 2 swipes
Did not settled on the lines of my lips
Did not feather nor bleed
Doesn't cause allergic reactions on my lips (flaking, extreme dryness, itchiness)

Cons:
The packaging feels so cheap
Not always available on our local Wet n Wild counters

How about you? Have you tried this already? :)

Orange lipstick you say? Try Wet n Wild Megalast lipstick in 24 Carrot Gold - Review, swatches & photos

I just can't get enough of Wet n Wild Megalast lipsticks since I bought Sugar Plum Fairy and Just Peachy. I was overwhelmed by it's quality for such a cheap price! Good thing I was able to get them from The Primp Pad for a really great deal! *winks*:D Anyway, one reader asks if I already tried Wet n Wild Megalast lipstick in Pinkerbell or some "orange shade" from the Megalast line. I already know what Pinkerbell looks like because I was supposed to get it together with Sugar Plum Fairy (it's a pretty pink color which a lot says a very good dupe for MAC Viva Glam Nicki).

I am so curious about wearing an orange lipstick when MAC released their Hayley collection which consists of an orange colored lippie a.k.a. Sounds Like Noise. I was really hesitant to get it because first, I know I will not wear it often enough and 2nd, I'm not sure if I'll look good or funny wearing it. haha. So I looked over at Google if Wet n Wild has an orange lipstick and boom! 24 Carrot Gold showed up. As usual, I can't resist the temptation so I texted The Primp Pad if they still have one (glad that they still have one!) and I ordered it together with Pinkerbell (will do a separate post for it).

Here it is:

24 Carrot Gold has a creamy semi-matte formula in a medium orange shade. You'll easily get an opaque color with just 2 swipes on your lips. It is pigmented like Just Peachy and lasts quite long on my lip (of course, without eating or else, I'll have to re-apply). I really went out of my boundary with this color but I must say, I'm glad I did! It wasn't as scary as you may think (scared that some might think you've got spaghetti sauce on your mouth kind of thing haha). It's a pretty color though and for me, very wearable and I'm thankful it's not as in "orange fruit" orange color because I will be able to use it and not feel awkward. :D

Lip swatch:
It settled into the lines on my lips because I didn't moisturized it with lipbalm prior applying. Yeah, I was that excited to use it. lolz. Please don't do what I did. :)

And here's my selfie shots wearing
Wet n Wild Megalast lipstick in 24 Carrot Gold.

Pros:
Affordable at Php148.00 only at The Primp Pad.
Creamy, opaque and very pigmented.
Lasts for quite a long time w/o eating of course.
Not drying and did not feathered out.
I did not get any allergic reactions (like lip flaking and itchiness)

Cons:
THE PACKAGING feels realy cheap. (hey, what do you expect^_^)
Not available here in our local counters.

I think, I satisfied my curiosity already about orange lipsticks and if it will be wearable or look alright with me (I hope I didn't looked awful haha).

How about you? Have you tried an wearing an orange lipstick?

Wet 'n Wild Megalast lipstick in Sugar Plum Fairy - a MAC Rebel dupe?

Wet 'n Wild Sugar Plum Fairy became popular because of it being tagged as a MAC Rebel dupe. MAC Rebel has been on my list too, but I'm always thinking twice whenever I'm about to buy it at MAC counters nor order it online. I'm not sure if I'll be able to use it often as Cosmo, Faux and Cherish because of its color (bold color we're talking about here lolz). I only want to have it- well, because- first, it's one of the best seller from MAC and second, it look so gorgeous on every lip swatches I've seen (and whenever I lip swatch it myself), be it from dark skinned to pale skinned girls. It has this unique shade that catches my attention. So, me being on a MAC lipstick ban for now finally decided to get its popular dupe of all for the meantime: enter Wet 'n Wild Megalast lipstick in Sugar Plum Fairy!

Since it's always out of stock at Wet 'n Wild counter at SM Southmall, I searched for online stores that sells it, and it's such a good riddance that I discovered The Primp Pad! They offer a variety of US cosmetics for a low price plus, the seller's nice too! :) (check out their online store for available products like Sephora, WnW, ELF etc..)

So, is it a really good dupe? Let's see.

I don't know why Wet n' Wild made this packaging, but for sure, I'm not crazy about it. It doesn't feel sturdy enough and the plastic cap seems off whenever I'm putting the cover back in - but hey, I don't mind because it is a good MAC Rebel dupe after all! I have swatch MAC Rebel over at Duty Free Phils. and MAC Alabang Town Center and I can say that they look almost alike if not 100% the same! :) The noticeable difference is the formula. Rebel has a Satin formula while Sugar Plum Fairy is matte. OOoohhhh.... matte... lolz.

I love, love this lipstick! It has GREAT pigmentation and a gorgeous semi-matte finish that isn't drying at all (or at least on my lips!). It fades evenly as hours goes by, but it leaves a pretty stain. I really consider it as a great buy because despite of its price, (around $3 in the US) it has a very good color pay off and formula that lasts at least 4 hours on me! (like my MAC amplified lipsticks) and for only Php 148.00, this is such a keeper!

This is the downside of Wet n Wild Megalast lipstick line. You can easily scrape the lipstick inside the cap by accident because it can't be fully twisted down and the lipstick itself tends to break while applying and melt when left on humid/hot areas because of its soft texture. (I hope WnW will reformulate this though)

                                                                            Swatches:

Lip swatches:

Please do remember that we have different lip color and sometimes, our natural lip color tends to alter the color of the lipstick on tube, so the color that appeared here on my lips might not be the same when you wear it. :)

And as always, the #selfie shot! haha. Here's me wearing Wet n Wild Sugar Plum Fairy: (note that I did not swatch it heavily on my lips here. I only layered it twice)

 Pros:
Very pigmented. Creamy vivid color. Glides on smoothly.
Semi-matte texture but isn't drying on my lips.
Lasts for 4 hours on my lips before fading evenly leaving a pretty stain.♥
Did not feathered out nor cause allergic reactions on my lips (flaking, itchiness)
A good dupe for MAC Rebel!
Very affordable for only Php 148.00 when bought at The Primp Pad.

Cons:
The PACKAGING. I hate it.
The texture could somewhat improve too. :D
Always OUT OF STOCK at local Wet n Wild counters here in Manila
Overpriced here at Php 299.00 a tube! *boo

All in all, I am IN LOVE with the color of Sugar Plum Fairy! It's one of the few colors that I will repurchase once I finished it because it really has such a good quality for a drugstore brand and it really resembles MAC Rebel which I'm lemming to have. ♥

Have you tried Wet n Wild's Sugar Plum Fairy? Do you like it too? :D

Peach is love! ♥ Wet 'n Wild Megalast lipstick in Just Peachy - Review, pictures and swatches

This shade has been on my list for the longest time. I'm a MAC lipstick gal, but hey, who doesn't want cheap but good finds right? (uhurm, that's me!) Wet 'n Wild is a super affordable cosmetic brand where you can get it for only $3 or like a dollar only for a lipstick when they're on sale! (well, in US-yes, but here..nah..how I wish). So, as I mentioned, Just Peachy and Sugar Plum Fairy (a very good dupe for MAC Rebel!) are on my wish list and why it belonged there is because our local counters here in Manila doesn't really re-stock these shades often.

I remember when I went to the mall last month to check if they are available, but the SA said they are yet to re-stock in 2 weeks or so- AND when I went back last week, yeah- they still has no stock for almost all of the lipsticks! *boo* (their counter looked like an abandoned makeup stand, and I'm not exaggerating here). Good thing there's The Primp Pad who sells a variety of US cosmetics in super affordable prices!♥ I'm really glad that I discovered this online store, and I think that they have the lowest price for Wet 'n Wild lipsticks so far, and the seller is so nice too! :) Such a hassle-free transaction♥

Okay, I'm gonna be reviewing Just Peachy first and will do a separate post for Sugar Plum Fairy:)

Wet 'n Wild Just Peachy is a coral-peach-nude lipstick. A pure peach with no pink or beige undertone, which I'm actually looking for. Perfect for everyday or girl-next-door look or if you're the type who prefers to wear a nice peach lippie. I have another peach-nude-beige lipstick but it's from MAC and they have different under tone. (see my review of MAC Cherish here).

I love the fact that Just Peachy is so pigmented and glides on opaquely. I experienced some lip tugging here, but it's a minor issue. (just use a lip balm to condition your lips prior to applying this, or any lipstick). It's completely matte but it isn't drying (surprise surprise!) and lasts for quite a long time on my lips which is a plus for a drugstore brand. It's surprisingly very vivid in just 2 swipes! I find it more flattering on me compared to MAC Cherish because of its subtle and pure peach color and I think it will suit girls with light-medium skin tones too. :) The only downside of this lipstick is the packaging. (who the heck designed it anyway?haha) The lipstick's head is exposed even you twisted it all the way down already and it has a tendency to break while applying because of the lipstick's soft texture (what will you expect for its price right? Just be careful) Good thing it already has a name of the color on the label instead of just numbers!  Well, aside from that, I have no other complaint. :D I love this lipstick and I feel that I made a great choice in choosing this color together with Sugar Plum Fairy.♥

Below is what I'm talking about: the texture.

And, of course, my post will not be complete without showing you how it look like on me. hehehe. Better brace your eyes again! :D

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
                                                                              Pros:
Very vivid color and pigmented.
Lasts for quite a long time. (about 3 hrs before fading)
Has a pure peach color that I love.
Super affordable, only Php 148.00 when bought at The Primp Pad.
Matte formula but did not dried out my lips. :)
Did not feather during hours of wear.
Fades evenly.
Has no weird scent at all.
It did not cause any allergic reaction on my lips. (severe flaking, itchiness)

Cons:
The packaging. It could be more sturdier.
The soft texture that tends to melt when exposed in a humid or hot area.
Always OUT OF STOCK at local Wet n Wild counters here in Manila
Overpriced here at Php 299.00 a tube!

All in all, I'm very happy with this lipstick. There's so many pros than cons to consider and, as far as I'm concerned, it's a good buy! The shade is so pretty and nice sans the fact that the lipstick tends to melt or break while in use, but the heck, it's okay with me. With its super affordable price, it won't hurt if I get another a new tube if I break one :)) *wink*

How about you? Have you tried Wet 'n wild's Megalast lipsticks?

Are the raves all worth it? Ben Nye Banana Luxury Powder - Review, photos + swatches

I have really oily skin. To add up, the weather now here in Manila is very humid that my oil glands are over reacting so I really need a very good oil-absorbing/controlling finishing powder.

I've read so many good reviews about this powder, but I'm still hesitant to try it because it has parabens and talc. (well, we all know those ingredients can be harmful, but I ain't no scientist/chemist to prove it) But, as I searched about it, some said it is safe to use even everyday (not sure though for me), while for many, it's their HG finishing powder because of the wonders it does. Oh, and yes- This is the powder that Kim K. is so crazy about. I searched for a seller and found out that Beautyholic Manila (the seller's so nice by the way! :D ) has still some on hand stocks and they have the cheapest price among the rest too. What happened next? ----- I finally joined the wagon.

The transaction went smooth, and I got the tiny bottle the day after it's been shipped. I will highlight the word tiny  because it really is so small, housed in a 1.5 oz teeny weeny bottle - but hey, don't fret and be fooled by its packaging because although the bottle's not full, you will only need a tiny amount to use on your entire face so I bet it will last for a long long time! :) They also have this in 3 oz. packaging but it's still on its way here in Manila (they only sell it for Php 850!).

Here's me with and without Ben Nye Banana Luxury Powder on my face:

See? The transition was very noticeable, specially the one I took with the flash on. I look so flawless and it really brightened up my whole face! I looked like I'm glowing! ^_^ Yeah, I know that Revlon Colorstay Whipped Crème already made my face flawless, BUT Ben Nye Banana Luxury Powder made it even more flawless looking. It effectively diminished my pores and the yellowness made my face glow! Now, I understand why almost everyone swears by this! *tehee

Pros:
Smooth, finely milled powder
Not heavy on skin.
Did not cause allergic reactions on my skin.
Almost translucent- though I LOVE the slight yellow-y color it adds. :)
Effectively delays the appearance of oil on my face for at least 2 more hours
Made my skin glow and looked more flawless
Perfect for flash photography - you won't have any white cast because of its yellow color
Available in other shades such as : Buff, Cameo, Neutral
A little goes a long way. This 1.5 oz.  product will last me a lifetime
Cheaper when bought from Beautyholic Manila (Php 600+50 shipping fee)

Cons:
Contains Parabens and Talc
Some seller sells this for twice the price! (watch out!)
Some may find its yellow color overwhelming for their skin tone

I totally love this powder! It's the perfect one to go with my Revlon Whipped foundation, but, as for the ingredients, I really didn't mind as long as I'm only using it when I'm attending special occasions or when I know that they will be taking A LOT of pictures. (and that's not everyday). Just be aware before getting this one because the ingredients may cause some irritations or allergic reactions to your skin.

So, are the raves all worth it? Indeed! :)

Will I repurchase? Yes! But I want to try MAC's blot powder too! :)

How about you? have you tried this already? What's your experience with this powder?

Maybelline Colorsensational Vivids in Fuchsia Flash- MAC Candy Yum Yum's shiny counterpart

In my recent post, I featured Maybelline Colorsensational Vivids in Brazen Berry and as I've said, I will do a separate post about Fuchsia Flash ('coz they deserved to be reviewed separately!). As MAC made Candy Yum Yum part of their permanent line, almost all the bloggers and gals I know bought one. You can read the raves on blogs, Facebook and Instagram posts too! The color's a very bright, almost neon pink and it's too loud already for my taste. I also thought that it would be a waste of money if I'll get one, only to end up unused in my traincase instead. So, I just want to try a lipstick first who has the same color of Candy Yum Yum  and see if I will like/love/hate it on me. hehe.

As usual, I searched on the internet about possible dupes, and almost all of the blogs I've read mentioned Maybelline's Colorsensational Vivids in Fuchsia Flash. So I bought it together with Brazen Berry (which is so pretty!) over at Bon Marche. Let's see if it is really a dupe.

And now, here's the actual comparison of the two. :)

See? on the tube, they both look the same. The only difference is that Fuchsia Flash has a shiny finish compared to Candy Yum Yum. I have tested the latter over at MAC Alabang Town Center, and I must say, hell yeah, they did look the same! (well of course, but in different finish) Maybelline Colorsensational Vivids line has an amplified-like finish and is very pigmented. I love that it's like MAC's amplified lipsticks! (my favorite). It glides on so smoothly because of its creamy texture. I actually prefer this over Candy Yum Yum because it's quite moisturizing and has a sheen which for me, makes it very wearable. ♥ It's up to you guys if you're willing to shell out on MAC Candy Yum Yum or just prefer this one instead and save almost thrice the amount of money. ^_^

Here's my selfie shot sporting Maybelline Colorsensational Vivids in Fuchsia Flash.

Pros:
Very pigmented, creamy, glides smoothly and opaquely like MAC's amplified finish lippies.
Moisturizing on my lips.
Did not feathered as the day goes by.
Lasts a decent time on my lips. (about 4-5 hrs.)
Leaves a pretty stain before fading evenly.
Affordable at Php 280-Php 320.00 when bought at Bon Marche (check them out! they sell super cheap but authentic US branded/drugstore cosmetics!)
Housed in a gorgeous neon orange cap! *tehee

Cons:
It has this strong lipstick smell that I'm not fond of. (but I can manage hehe)
Not available locally. (boo)

Have you tried this one yet?
